Terms & Conditions

Events company: This is event is run by Australian Wearable Art Festival Pty Ltd

Terms and Conditions are Binding: Tickets to the Event are sold or given and admission to

the Event is granted on the express condition that you are bound by these Event Terms and

Conditions and any other rules and regulations issued by the Promoter (Event T+Cs). By purchasing

an Event ticket, you agree to be bound to the Event T+Cs.

Directions of Event Staff: You must follow the reasonable directions of Event staff as required

and comply with the law at all times during the Event.



Event Tickets

Entry to the event will be granted upon presentation of a valid electronic ticket issued by an

authorised ticketing agency. For environmental sustainability, we encourage patrons to keep tickets

digital and avoid printing them where possible.

Accepted forms of entry include:

  • a valid bar-coded e-ticket displayed on a mobile device; or
  • a valid bar-coded print-at-home PDF ticket (only if digital presentation is not possible).

An Authorised Ticketing Agency means:

  1. Flicket Ltd (Flicket); and
  2. Any independent ticketing outlet authorised and approved by the Promoter.

Lost or deleted electronic tickets can be reissued upon verification of purchase. Please ensure your

ticket is downloaded and accessible prior to arrival, as internet coverage at the venue may be

limited.



Ticket Refunds and Transfers

Tickets are non-refundable, except in the unlikely event that the festival is cancelled or rescheduled.

In such cases, ticket holders will be contacted directly with refund or transfer options.

If you can no longer attend, tickets may be transferred to another guest through the authorised

ticketing platform (Flicket) prior to the event date. Please ensure the new attendee has a valid ticket

in their name for entry.



Smoking and Vaping

The Australian Wearable Art Festival is a smoke-free and vape-free event. Smoking or vaping is not

permitted inside the venue, backstage, or within any event spaces. Please comply with all no-



smoking policies in place at the venue and respect the comfort and wellbeing of fellow guests,

artists, and staff.



Audience Photography and Recording

Personal photography is welcome at the Australian Wearable Art Festival; however, please be

considerate of others when taking photos.



  • SLR or professional cameras (including detachable or telephoto lenses) are not permitted in

the audience without prior media accreditation.

  • Flash photography is discouraged to ensure the comfort of other audience members and

models.

  • No photography or filming is permitted during any backstage tours.
  • Photos and short video clips may be shared on social media, provided they are for personal

use only and appropriately tag or credit the Australian Wearable Art Festival

(@australianwearableartfestival).



Recording or live-streaming the full event performance is not permitted without written approval

from the Promoter.



No Animals: animals are not permitted at the Event Site. Service animals are permitted with certification, which you may be asked to show.



Guest Conduct and Venue Policy

Guests are expected to enjoy the Australian Wearable Art Festival in a respectful and considerate

manner. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or request a guest to leave if their

behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or impacts the enjoyment of others.



Alcohol

The festival is a fully licensed event. Alcohol may only be purchased and consumed within

designated areas at the venue. Guests must be 18 years or older and present valid photo

identification to purchase alcohol. Bringing outside alcohol into the venue is not permitted.

The venue practices Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and may refuse service to any person who

is intoxicated or behaving inappropriately.



Food and Beverages

Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. To ensure comfort and venue

compliance, outside food and beverages are not permitted, with the exception of sealed or empty

reusable water bottles



Drugs and Prohibited Substances

The possession, use or distribution of illegal drugs or prohibited substances is strictly forbidden. Any

person found in breach of this condition may be removed from the venue and referred to

authorities.



Risk and Safety

Entry to the event venue is at your own risk. Please take care when moving around the venue,

particularly near staging, lighting or display areas. Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn

at all times.

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss or

damage arising from failure to follow venue or event staff directions. In the event of illness or injury,

the Promoter may, at your cost, arrange medical assistance or emergency evacuation if considered

necessary for your safety.



Photography and Media

By attending the Australian Wearable Art Festival, you acknowledge that photography, video

recording and live streaming may occur throughout the event. Your image may appear in

promotional materials, broadcasts or digital content related to the festival. If you do not wish to be

photographed or filmed, please advise event staff upon arrival.

Privacy and Audience Information

By purchasing a ticket, you consent to the Promoter collecting your contact details for essential

event communication. Limited information may be shared with trusted event partners for offers or

experiences related to the festival. Your data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act

1988 (Cth) and will never be sold or used outside the event context.



Liability and Indemnity

The Australian Wearable Art Festival will provide its services with due care and professionalism.

However, except as required by law, the Promoter and the venue accept no responsibility for any

loss, damage, injury or expense incurred by guests in connection with attendance at the event. Entry

to the venue and participation in any associated activities are at your own risk.



Guests agree to indemnify the Promoter and venue from any loss or damage resulting from their

own negligence or breach of these Terms and Conditions.



To the extent permitted by law, guests release the Promoter, venue and their staff, contractors and

volunteers from any liability for personal injury, property damage or other loss arising from

attendance at or participation in the event.



Enforceability: Any provision of these Event T+Cs which is or becomes unenforceable shall not

invalidate the other provisions of these Event T+Cs.



Ticket Name Change:  "For some events, Flicket facilitates the transfer/renaming of ticket(s).

For facilitating this transfer/renaming there may be a fee that the new ticket owner has to pay"

"Once you have transferred/renamed your ticket(s) you will have no rights or ownership to the

ticket(s) transferred"

Refunds, Cancellations and Program Changes

The Australian Wearable Art Festival reserves the right to make changes to the event program or

schedule if required.



No refunds will be provided except as required by law. Refunds or exchanges will not be available

due to program changes, artist withdrawals, or if a guest chooses not to attend.



If the event is cancelled, postponed or relocated, ticket holders will be notified directly and offered

options in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.



No refunds or credits will be issued to guests who are refused entry or asked to leave the venue for

breaching these Terms and Conditions, or who fail to present valid identification when required.



Tickets are not transferable to future festival years.



Force Majeure

If the event is cancelled, postponed or materially altered due to circumstances beyond the

reasonable control of the Promoter — including but not limited to natural disasters, government

restrictions, venue damage, illness outbreaks, or acts of authority — the Promoter will not be liable

for any resulting loss or expense. In such cases, the Promoter will use best efforts to provide ticket

holders with suitable alternatives or refunds in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.



Environment and Sustainability

The Australian Wearable Art Festival values sustainability and community care. We invite all guests

to join us in reducing waste and caring for our environment throughout the event.

Please:

  • Keep your ticket digital — avoid printing where possible.
  • Dispose of litter responsibly using the recycling and general waste bins provided.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle (no glass) to refill at designated stations.
  • Be mindful of energy and resources — small actions make a big difference.
  • Respect artworks and displays, many of which are created from repurposed or sustainable materials.



Together, we can celebrate creativity while protecting the planet that inspires it.



The Novotel Sunshine Coast Convention Centre proudly supports sustainable event practices,

aligning with our shared commitment to environmental responsibility.



Prohibited Items

For the safety and comfort of all guests, certain items are not permitted within the venue. These

include (but are not limited to):

  • Alcohol or illegal substances
  • Glass containers or flammable materials
  • Weapons or sharp objects
  • Professional photography or recording equipment (unless authorised)
  • Drones or remote-control devices
  • Large bags, eskies or coolers
  • Items that may disturb other guests or obstruct
  • Bags may be subject to inspection upon entry. Any items deemed unsafe or inappropriate by event or venue staff may be confiscated or refused entry.

Guests must follow all directions from event and venue staff regarding prohibited items and safety

procedures.
